The Power of Self-Discovery: Using DISC to Build Stronger Connections in 2025

As we approach the start of a new year, many of us are looking for ways to connect more meaningfully with others—at home, at work, and in our communities. What is DISC, and How Does It Help Us Communicate Better?

DISC is a personality assessment tool that identifies four primary personality traits: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness. Each of these traits comes with its strengths, communication styles, and ways of responding to different situations. By learning about our DISC profile, we gain insight into:

• Strengths and Challenges: Areas where we excel in communication and areas where we can grow.

• Adaptability: How we can adjust our approach to bridge communication gaps with people who may have a different style.

For instance, if you’re someone who falls under the Dominance (D) profile, you may be driven, goal-oriented, and direct. This can be incredibly effective in certain environments, but it may require a softer approach when interacting with someone who has a Steadiness (S) profile and prefers stability and harmony.
